The San Antonio Spurs bought out power forward/center Pau Gasol’s contract allowing him to sign with the Milwaukee Bucks. Gasol had to be released before midnight this past Friday to be available for the NBA Playoffs.
Bucks currently lead the Eastern Conference with a 47-14 record. Gasol will be looking to come off the bench for center Brook Lopez. Gasol will bring leadership and championship experience.

Experience Brought
The 18-year veteran has made the playoffs 12 times in his career and won two titles during his stint with the Los Angeles Lakers. Gasol elevated the Lakers and brought Kobe Bryant the help he needed to win back to back titles in 2009 and 2010.
At 38-years-old Gasol is looking to make another title run. The Bucks plan to utilize his experience for 24-year-old superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo and the rest of the young upcoming squad.
He currently is averaging a career-low 4.2 points per game and 4.7 rebounds per game. For his career, he averages 17.1 points and 9.2 rebounds.
Gasol is guaranteed $6.7 million of his $16 million contract in 2019-20 and is earning $16 million this season. He will wear number 17 with his new team.
