Baltimore own Outcalls released new single “Mother”

  • PublishedMarch 11, 2020

Dubbed the “electronic opera queens” of Baltimore, Britt Olsen-Ecker and Melissa Wimbish of Outcalls have revealed their newest single “Mother.” The track features their first collaboration with LA-based producer and engineer Jennifer Pague of Vita and the Woolf (Tender Loving Empire Records).  The pop-operatic duo’s prior record “Keep Falling Over” (rel. 5/2018) was voted the #1 song of the year by 89.7 WTMD listeners and was featured on Maryland Public Television’s Artworks showcase. This latest announcement comes one week after the release of their official music video “Stay” on January 22nd, 2020.

Here is what Baltimore Magazine wrote about “Stay”:

“What starts as a heartbreak ballad builds into a funky song of empowerment—slowly taking off the rose-colored glasses of a past relationship as they move through the emotions of breaking up. Come for the trademark ethereal harmonies … stay for the fast-flying playful verses in the middle of the song, building to a synth-studded vocal crescendo at the end.”
