“I can’t Breathe.”

“I can’t Breathe.”
  • PublishedJune 2, 2020

2020 has become one of the years we wish to cancel out not because of the killer Coronavirus, but a killer named system. Police brutality is not a fanfiction; it’s real. George Floyd 46 years of age, a soul who lost his life. What was his mistake? He was a person of color. It is everywhere. So many lives have been lost to police brutality, and nobody raises an eye. As humans, There is only so much we could do against a force full of people who just want a reason to kill, not knowing how many lives we will lose in the coming years to all those governments playing divide and conquer. Feeling oppressed is worst of all. This article is to dedicate all the lives lost to police brutality. To raise awareness against how a person of color is feeling, I am a person of color myself, and my brother’s and sister’s from a different skin have got it worst. As humans don’t let this happen, we need to stop it, and we are filming racism online instead of saying a word. This will be the end of us; it is working for them—so many questions and opinions races through our minds. We pray for a better tomorrow’s every day. To the families, we are thinking of you.

At the time, Kaepernick had said he would not honor a song nor “show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color.”Colin Kaepernick, back in 2016, started a movement. He was ridiculed, judged, and everybody has comments, but this is why folks. Also, Recently, I see a lot of hate on Meek Mill for addressing the people with his situation and what he had to go through in life for just getting pulled over. Everybody got comment’s like ” he always be crying, and he has to make everything about himself” or ” he is an attention seeker.” No, he is trying to tell you what he has been through so you don’t have to go through it. He is telling you some real stuff. Don’t ignore these celebrities’ insensitive time. They are human, too; it is not correct to only like them when they are enjoying success or throwing titles or albums for you to get entertained on. Just think about it for a second; it could be you only because you are a different color! We cannot let these movements go or make them into a meme. We need to address the real and the truth!

Since the death of Eric Garner, his dying words “I can’t breathe” became a rallying cry for protests against police brutality. In 2014, Eric Garner passed away in the hands of the Four New York Police Department. He was arrested for allegedly selling loose, untaxed cigarettes in Staten Island. His death sparked the African-American community and social media, including celebrities and sports players as LeBron James, Kobe Bryant & Derrick Rose.

Down below is a list and picture of the souls we have lost over the years, and they still need attention. We need to come together, no caste, no creed, no nothing just humanity!

Let us be real and stop hate against people of color! We need to be better together.
