Congratulations to the Washington Mystics who just clinched the final WNBA playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. The Mystics played the Atlanta Dreams, whose record is 7-16 for the season.

Congratulations to the Washington Mystics who just clinched the final WNBA playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. The Mystics played the Atlanta Dreams, whose record is 7-16 for the season. Mystics started off leading in the first quarter with a score of 27-22. Mystics star Aerial Atkins led the game in points for her team with 26. She also had 5 assists and 3 rebounds. Myisha Hines-Allen led the game with 10 rebounds.

The second and third quarter was a battle for a consistent lead. The Mystics dominated within the 3rd creating a 4 point lead ending the quarter off.
The game started with Atl Dreams star  Courtney Williams driving to the paint with an and 1 play possession. Courtney didn’t have the best PPG with only 4 but was accelerating in rebounds with 11. Blake Dietrick contributed the most to assist with 4.

 

 

Atlanta Dream players Betnijah Laney and Chennedy Carter had a combined total of 53 points. But the pressure of the defense on the Mystics gave the Dream a lost and the Mystics in the final bracket of the playoffs.

The 2019 WNBA champions are back to defend their title for a potential win for the 2020 season. The Mystics are showing they’re championing mentality is not stopping ending the game with a score of 85-78. This win is also coming off on the second day of back to back games played for the Mystics. The Mystics have been showing this mentality on and off the court still continuing to fight for justice and bring awareness to Black Lives Matter, and the impact of voting. After tipoff, both teams took a game violation in the first possession.
