With CIAA football right around the corner, the CIAA has released its predicted order of finish with the Bowie State Bulldogs predicted to repeat as CIAA champions. The Fayetteville State Broncos, the team the Bulldogs defeated in the CIAA championship game last season, is favored to be back in the championship game again.

Last season, the Bowie State Bulldogs football team finished the regular season 8-2 while going 5-1 in conference play to secure a berth in the CIAA championship game. There the Bulldogs would defeat the Fayetteville State Broncos 30-10 securing their first CIAA championship win since their sole win in 1989. From there, the Bulldogs would go on to win their first ever Division II playoff game against West Alabama.

The Bulldogs will look to continue their CIAA dominance without star quarterback Hall who graduated last fall. In his three years as starting quarterback, Amir Hall led the Bulldogs to a 26-9 record, two CIAA championship appearance and the aforementioned championship win last season. He would go on to break numerous Bowie State and CIAA records in passing including the CIAA career record for most passing touchdowns and passing yards.

In addition to being favored to win the CIAA, the Bulldogs also have three players named to the All-CIAA Preseason team: defensive end Oluwaleke Ajenifuja, wide receiver Montez Clay, and defensive lineman Joshua Pryor.
