Bradley Beal Leads Eastern Conference Guards in All-Star Voting

Bradley Beal Leads Eastern Conference Guards in All-Star Voting
  • PublishedFebruary 11, 2021

While the Washington Wizards are currently the 14th seed and have an abysmal 6-16 record, there is a silver lining. With the second returns of All-Star Voting coming out our very own Bradley Beal still leads the Eastern Conference Guards with 2,528,719 tallies.

The margin is more than 400,000 votes over Brooklyn Nets Kyrie Irving. Voting ends February 16 and it seems Beal will finish atop the guards. This will be the former No.3 overall pick’s third All-Star selection.

He first earned this accolade during the 2017-18 season and followed up with another appearance in 2018-19. Since leading in the votes it’s expected for Beal to receive his first NBA All-Star Game starter spot.

After posting averages of 28.7 points, 6.4 assists, and 4.5 rebounds his streak was snapped last year. It’s no doubt he should’ve been selected last year, but some argue due to the team’s minor success he wasn’t worthy of selection.

This year Beal has stepped up his scoring even more and ranks first in the NBA averaging 32.8 points per game. He also is averaging 5.0 rebounds and 4.5 assists a game.

The 2021 NBA All-Star Game will be played on March 7 and televised by TNT. It will take place in Atlanta, Georgia, the first time it’s been there since 2003.
