A few of your favorite rappers are in a bit of trouble after allegedly jacking DJ JMK’s beat without paying the man his money.

According to TMZ, DJ JMK, whose real name is Kirk Edwards, is suing Cardi B, Yo Gotti, French Montana, City Girls, and Master P for using his “Choppa Style” beat without paying or giving proper credit.

JMK stated that he recorded the song in November of 2000 and has been playing it with every DJ set he has had. Every artist that he mentioned essentially misappropriated many recognizable and key protected elements when sampling the song.  JMK believes that he should have gotten paid for each some sample but he has not seen any cash since.

City Girls and Cardi B most recently sample the sing with their hit single “Twerk” while Yo Gotti and French Montana used the song back in 2017 with their song “Oh Yeah”.
