Three individuals struck by a car while waiting for bus in Bethesda; One victim suffering life-threatening injuries
Three individuals were struck by a car while waiting for a bus in Bethesda, Maryland, on Wednesday morning, including a little kid who was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The youngster was struck at 8:22 a.m. at Grosvenor Place and King Charles Way, according to Montgomery County police. According to authorities, a Honda Accord driver was pulling out of a nearby apartment complex’s parking area when he jumped the curb and struck individuals waiting at the bus stop.
A guy, who had minor injuries, and an infant in a stroller, who was apparently unscathed, were the other two individuals hit.
The child who was gravely injured is a student at Ashburton Elementary School in Bethesda, according to Montgomery County Public Schools spokesman Chris Cram.
The cause of the crash and why the motorist leaped the curb are yet unknown, according to police.
The Accord collided with a tree along the side of the road and a nearby MCPS school bus, according to photos taken at the scene.
The police investigation has closed Grosvenor Lane between Rockville Pike/Maryland Route 355 and King Charles Way.
