Washington Wizards Lose First Summer League Game to Sacramento Kings

The Wizards lose their debut summer league game against the Kings.

The Washington Wizards lost 89-75 to the Sacramento Kings in their Summer League debut. Fans shouldn’t look too much into this loss as the Wizards were short in their roster.

The opener was originally scheduled for this past Sunday but was postponed for two days due to six players entering the NBA’s health and safety protocol.

The Wizards were also missing their 2020 first-round pick Deni Avdija out of precaution for an ankle injury he suffered late last season. Cassius Winston the 2020 second-round pick also was one of the six players missing in action.

15th overall Corey Kispert made his summer debut scoring 8 points off of 3-9 shooting. Former Liberty University standout guard Caleb Homesley lead the Wizards with 17 points on 6-8 shooting. Holmes has been fighting for a spot on the roster for the past year as he has been waived just this past week, but still appeared for them in this game.
