Woman accused in deadly Rockville stabbing IDed as former US ambassador’s daughter

Rockville, MD – A woman accused in connection with a deadly stabbing in Rockville has been identified.

27-year-old Sophia Negroponte, the daughter of former U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. and Iraq was arrested Thursday night and charged with first-degree murder.

The victims was 24-year-old Yousuf Rasmussen of Brookes Lane in Bethesda, was found dead on the scene at the 400 block of West Montgomery Avenue in Rockville around 11:16 p.m.

Investigators say the two were acquaintances who’d been involved in a disagreement.
