Beauty of the Week: Janai Better Known As Cataleya

Meet Beauty of the Week, Janai better known as Cataleya. I’m 26yo from Prince Georges County, have a beautiful daughter named Khaleesi, I’m a model that has been published over 10 times in magazines and she’s very passionate about art and life.

What’s something people should know about you?

That I genuinely care about people, especially those who do not or feel like they do not have a voice for themselves. I always want to help.

What’s your favorite food(s)?

Anything southern! I don’t have a specific favorite food because I eat just about everything. Mac n cheese, bbq’d deer, fried okra, southern and soulful is always my go to.

Random: Beyonce or Rihanna?

Depends. Music wise and performance wise, Beyonce. I think I’m the only person who has never been to one of her concerts. To shoot my shot, Rihanna for sure. (Rih if you’re reading this, my dms are open.)

What’s your favorite color(s)?

Purple is my favorite color but I love my jewelry in rose gold.

If you had to choose a superpower, what superpower would you choose?

My super power would be to be able to heal people. I think we can all agree that healthcare is a big issue in our world and most people do not have access to it. I think that most people SHOULD have access to it. I wouldn’t share my power with anyone though for obvious reasons.

Which beauty product is a must-have before you leave the house?

Eyelash glue, mascara and chapstick! I think everyone should carry eyelash glue because who wants to be out of luck when that corner decides to lift. If that doesn’t work then I’ll just rip them off and apply mascara. As for chapstick, no one likes dry, cracked and bleeding lips so chapstick is a MUST. I can’t get enough of Santana and Ceresha! Those two are thee perfect complete mess and very entertaining.

East Coast or West Coast?

East coast! For one, the DMV and for two, I feel like the whole east coast sums up LA itself. That’s all the west has, is LA. We the east coast have DC, Maryland, Virginia, NYC, Miami and Atlanta just to name a few. These places are filled with very successful and talented people who have made what the “fame” industry is today.

If you can meet any music artist of all time, who would it be?

Surprisingly, to you all, Louis Armstrong. I’m a old head at heart and I really value good sound in music. He’s amazing.

What is your favorite clothing brand?

I do not have a favorite clothing brand and don’t really care for the flashy big name brands. I like to look expensive without having to spend so much. No one will know anyways.

How do you like to spend your free time?

A glass of wine, music and painting. I’ve always been into art so any chance I get, I paint.

What does a typical day in your week look like?

A typical day in my week involves being a stay at home mom to my daughter Khaleesi, training at the gym, photo shoots and branding for both my body sculpting business, nail business and modeling. There is never a solid day where there is “nothing to do” but I am grateful for all that I have and the hard work it takes to reach the level I know I should be on.

If your personality was a flavor, what flavor would it be?

My personality flavor would be blue raspberry because everyone loves blue raspberry. Blue is a cool color, my personality is very cool and chill. Raspberry is sweet, sour and tangy and my I can be just that.
