The DMV Daily – Tell us about your recent release:
Brionna Nijah – I’M NOT GOOD is a mental health self-help book that helps the reader target their root triggers. Oftentimes when someone asks us how we are doing, we respond – I’M GOOD. Without thinking we have a triggered response to this question. But why? I’M Not Good explores how our triggered responses are keeping us away from true peace.
Brionna Nijah – Can’t say anyone did. I have been writing since I was ten. It started off as a school assignment and has grown to how I release my thoughts.
Brionna Nijah – A long journey with unexpected stop signs. The book must reveal itself to you. We can’t rush to the end, no matter how long it takes.
Brionna Nijah – I like to have a hot cup of tea, a pen, and paper. Initially, I just have to get out how I feel, what I am noticing, and what I think should be done about it. Once my thoughts are on paper and I can see and visualize them, then I begin to type.
Brionna Nijah – Social media has helped me with developing content ideas and marketing strategies.
Brionna Nijah – Richard Wright.
Brionna Nijah – When your thoughts line up with God’s, no one and nothing can stop you.
Brionna Nijah – I tend to overthink. That is the one thing I would definitely change about me.
Brionna Nijah – I wanted to host a book signing. Unfortunately, COVID is messing that up. So instead, I will be hosting a virtual book tour. In the fall, I will be going back to school to get my Masters in Forensic Psychology. Over the years, I’ve spoken at colleges, high schools, and youth ministries about suicide and depression. Forensic Psychology will help me to help juveniles in detention centers and implement better protocols and programs that will help further our youth.
