In 2025, Analogue’s Plans To Launch A New 4K Nintendo 64 For $249.
Analogue has announced new details about its highly anticipated take on the Nintendo 64, the Analogue 3D. Initially set for a 2024 release, the console is now slated to launch in early 2025 (Q1) with a price tag of $249.99. Available in black or white, pre-orders have already begun as of October 21st at 11 AM ET.
The Analogue 3D will support all N64 games from the US, EU, and Japan without emulation, allowing users to play iconic titles like Ocarina of Time, Mario Kart 64, and Banjo-Kazooie. In addition to visual enhancements, the console features wireless Bluetooth and 2.4G capabilities, four original-style controller ports, and USB and HDMI connectivity.
Gamers should note a few important caveats before preordering. Unlike cloud-based services like Nintendo Switch Online, which offer access to many N64 classics, the Analogue 3D requires original cartridges for gameplay. Additionally, the console does not come with a controller, though original N64 controllers can be easily found on secondhand markets like eBay and Gumtree. For those looking for a modern take, hardware company 8BitDo offers an updated version of the classic N64 gamepad, available separately for $39.99 through Analogue’s website.
