A 36-year-old man from Washington, D.C., was found guilty on felony assault charges after investigators claim he threatened a mother and her daughter with a gun during a road rage episode while stuck in traffic four years ago.
According to police, Jacobi Williams began blaring his horn at a woman and daughter in a vehicle ahead of him in traffic on April 26, 2018, near the intersection of 4th and I Street in the northwest.
According to police, Williams attempted to drive around the vehicle but was unable to do so. He allegedly threatened the mother and daughter with a revolver before driving away when the traffic stopped.
Surveillance footage helped identify him. According to police, Williams is being held in detention on an unrelated 2021 homicide charge that will be tried in June 2023. In Charles County, Maryland, he is also charged with another homicide.
Williams was convicted on two counts of aggravated assault with a dangerous weapon. The sentencing date is set for March 14, 2023.
