J.Cole has a large fan base who has remained loyal to the North Carolina rapper throughout his come up. Last night Cole surprised fans again dropping a single titled “Snow On Tha Bluff.”
Not too long after the release last night, fans and other listeners started connecting dots. Many concurred that the rapper was taking shots at Chicago artist Noname. People think the reason stems from her tweet shortly after George Floyd’s murder:
“y’all favorite top-selling rappers not even willing to put a tweet up” – Noname
Cole had some questions and things to get off his chest in the single, but the lines that started the whole Twitter debates were,
“She mad at the celebrities, lowkey I be thinkin’ she talking bout me. Now I ain’t no dummy to think I’m above criticism so when I see something that’s valid I listen. But shit, it’s something about the queen tone that’s bothering me.” – J. Cole
Cole woke up and still stood behind his lyrics on the song. He also mentioned that he hasn’t done a lot of reading and doesn’t feel equipped to lead during these times. Honestly, I feel this is something Twitter took to another level and it’s just two adults with different views on a situation. Knowing how lowkey J.Cole is I believe the two will talk on the phone and maybe even collaborate in the near future together.

I haven’t done a lot of reading and I don’t feel well equipped as a leader in these times. But I do a lot of thinking. And I appreciate her and others like her because they challenge my beliefs and I feel that in these times that’s important.
