J.Cole has made his mark in the rap game over the years. A college graduate who attended St. Johns University in New York, to the first rapper signed to Jay-Z’s Roc Nation label the journey has been amazing.

Cole is known for spitting deep lyrics to provoke thoughts and challenge the young upcoming rappers. At 34-years-old fans have seen Cole grow from a humble North Carolina MC to one of the best rappers out now. To make it even greater, Cole has established going platinum with no feature multiple times and sticking to his script.

We haven’t seen him go “mainstream” and cop out to the mumble rap or use upcoming rappers to keep his name relevant.

In this interview, we get to dig inside the mind of Jermaine Cole and realize that he wants to get out of his comfort zone and work with more artists. This is truly a blessing, as we have a lot of amazing tracks that can come from him wanting to work with more artists and challenge himself to bring greatness to every feature he does.

He also talks about his performance for NBA All-Star weekend in his hometown, becoming a father, and more. Be sure to read the full interview with GQ. Click the link below.
