At just 13, Kyla Imani captured attention by recreating Beyoncé’s “7/11” video, going viral and marking the start of her journey. Her remix of “Track Star: Let Him Hurt” on TikTok achieved over 115,000 uses and 3.2 million YouTube views, cementing her as a rising force.

Kyla quickly followed with singles like “These Boys Ain’t It” and “Big Plans.” Now, she transitions from songwriter to artist with her latest release, “Chosen,” the first of five singles to be unveiled this year. Directed by Kamaleon Films, the video showcases her dynamic presence and confident lyrics.

Her songwriting prowess secured a deal with Pulse and Grammy-winning producers Stargate, and she’s become a sought-after talent and brand ambassador for names like L’Oréal and Adobe. She also showcased her acting on CBS’s “Equalizer” alongside Queen Latifah.

In 2018, Kyla impressed with “Sitting Up In My Room” featuring Jay Critch, followed by “Decline” with Deetranada. She has performed at major festivals like Vidcon and SXSW. In 2019, she joined DDG on the “Breaking The Internet Tour” and released her second EP, “Uploading…”.

Kyla was named Artist of the Year by her peers at LAAMP in 2021. Her ability to turn personal experiences into relatable music, combined with her melodic style and witty lyrics, makes her a standout in Gen Z’s R&B movement, proving why she is “Chosen.”
