Maryland closing all ‘non-essential’ businesses today as state grapples with coronavirus

The State of Maryland will be closing all non-essential businesses as of 5 p.m., Governor Larry Hogan announced on Monday morning.

Governor Hogan thanked residents who have been respecting state guidelines regarding the crisis, but noted that “unfortunately, many people are not taking it seriously.”

Hogan mentioned that he is not issuing a statewide shelter-in-place order.

  • Grocery stores/food banks
  • Pharmacies
  • Medical Supply Stores
  • Gas Stations/Convenience Stores
  • Liquor Stores
  • Hardware Stores
  • Laundromats
  • Banks
  • Auto Service
