Maryland man charged after throwing 60-person bonfire party

A Charles County man charged for violating Gov. Larry Hogan’s social distancing order after police said he threw a bonfire party with more than 60 people.

41-year-old Shawn Marshall Myers of Hughesville, MD, “refused multiple requests” to obey Gov. Hogan’s order to keep social gatherings to less than ten people after police crashed the party Friday night in the 1500 block of Lukes Lane.

Police stated that they have also responded to a similarly large crowd complaint ar Myers’ home last Sunday, March 22.

There are now more than 1,200 reported coronavirus cases and ten deaths.
