The Kennedy Center has announced that Queen Latifah will host the 47th Annual Kennedy Center Honors for the first time. The star-studded event will air on Sunday, December 22, 2024, from 8:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. ET/PT on CBS, with streaming available on Paramount+. Queen Latifah was a 2023 honoree at the Kennedy Center Honors. Known for her versatile career across music, film, and television, she currently stars in the CBS series The Equalizer.
This year’s honorees include Francis Ford Coppola, the celebrated director behind iconic films like The Godfather and Apocalypse Now; the legendary rock band the Grateful Dead; blues rock singer Bonnie Raitt; jazz trumpeter Arturo Sandoval; and The Apollo, which will receive special recognition for its enduring legacy as an iconic American institution.
The Kennedy Center Honors recognizes individuals and institutions that have made extraordinary contributions to American culture through the performing arts, and this year’s ceremony promises to be a memorable celebration of artistic excellence.
