Brinks Driver Attacked, $500K Stolen Outside Navy Federal Credit Union in Clinton
CLINTON, Md. — Prince George’s County Police are investigating a brazen armed robbery that took place outside a Navy Federal Credit Union branch on Woodyard Road early Monday morning, November 3, 2025.
Authorities say the incident occurred around 8:24 a.m., when a Brinks armored truck was parked outside the credit union located in the 8800 block of Woodyard Road. According to investigators, several suspects—at least one armed with a handgun—approached the vehicle and assaulted the driver.
Witnesses reported that two of the suspects exited a getaway vehicle armed with firearms and confronted the Brinks employees as they serviced the ATM. Police say the assailants managed to enter the armored truck and steal a substantial amount of cash, estimated at approximately $500,000, before fleeing the scene with two additional accomplices.
The driver sustained minor injuries after being pistol-whipped during the attack. He was treated at the scene and is expected to recover.
Investigators are reviewing surveillance footage that captured the suspects’ movements before and after the robbery. However, as of Tuesday morning, no arrests have been made, and no suspect descriptions have been publicly released.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward. A cash reward is being offered for tips leading to the identification and arrest of those responsible.
