Support is growing for 13-year-old Rylee Johnson, who suffered critical burns in a house fire on Dec. 23 in Mechanicsville, Maryland. The fire, caused by a candle, left Rylee with second- and third-degree burns on her face, neck, arm, and torso. She was airlifted to the hospital, and the fire destroyed the home, displacing her family.

Rylee’s grandfather, former Fire Chief Bobby Johnson, and her family are now facing significant challenges, including daily treatments and the cost of temporary housing. A GoFundMe campaign has raised nearly $20,000 to assist with medical expenses and the long recovery process.

The Mechanicsville Volunteer Fire Department has also collected donations to support the family during this difficult time.

The Johnson family has expressed gratitude for the community’s support and prayers.
