Ah midterms and finals, the bane of any undergrad, graduate, or doctorate student existence so any tips to ace them and make them easier can come in handy. We collectively hate them but we must take them. So below are four tips from my experience.
tips

1. One Study But Don’t Over Study

Realize that your mind can only hold so much information and only so much that will be on the text will actually be explained to you. You miss out on essential sleep if you over study. Study what you struggle on the most instead of studying every little single detail that you’ve covered over the semester. Study smarter, not harder.

2. Have Fun In Between To ease Tension

Don’t overwork or over stress yourself. Find a avenue of enjoyment for you to relax your mind. Hit the gym, listen to music, have a nice happy hour with friends or your lover, make music, write a blog, hit a sporting event, or just do something that takes your mid off momentarily off your exam. Too much focus and stress leads to overthinking the test and failing it.
3. Have a quick coffee or green tea cup right before
To pass a exam, yo must have at least a 70% awareness rating and natural ways of stimulating caffeine in your body is one of the best ways to make sure you’re active. Do not did what I did undergrad and take shots right before I took tests to pass. Luckily I’m a current 3.9 student i graduate school right now but I could’ve easily failed due to that recklessness.
4. After each exam, take deep breathes and relax
Don’t worry so much if you failed or pass the test, just take more relief it’s over and just take a deep breathe. Everything will be okay as long as you keep your composure and keep thinking future tense. Thinking current tense will set you up for failure.
