Prosecutors in Missouri announced on Tuesday that three detained are now facing murder charges in connection with the shooting incident that occurred during Kansas City’s Super Bowl celebration parade on February 14.
During the parade, one person was tragically killed, and 22 others sustained injuries. Last week, two juveniles were charged in connection with the incident and have since been detained on gun-related and resisting arrest charges. The ages of the juveniles have not been disclosed.
Authorities have indicated that additional charges may be forthcoming as the investigation progresses. Police have stated that the shooting stemmed from a dispute among multiple individuals, despite the presence of 800 police officers patrolling the celebration.
The victim of the fatal shooting was identified as Lisa Lopez-Galvan, a 43-year-old beloved local DJ and mother of two. Additionally, police reported that among the 22 injured individuals, ages ranged from 8 to 47 years old.
