7-Eleven Store Clerk Assaulted During Attempted ATM smash-and-go in Prince George’s County

Police say a store clerk was assaulted during an attempted ATM smash-and-go robbery in Prince George’s County.

Officers say the incident took place around 4 a.m. at a 7-Eleven store on the 2300 block of Varnum Street in Mount Rainer, MD.

Investigators say two black males drove a truck through the store’s front window then go out and proceed to assault the worker inside. The suspects tethered the ATM and attempted to drive off but the tether snapped and they could not leave the money machine.
