Canna Coffee Ice Cream Mocktail Bar Lounge Owner Arrested For Threatening Two Men With Knife
Greg Harris, former owner of the now-shuttered Canna Coffee Ice Cream Mocktail Bar Lounge in Washington, D.C., was arrested on December 16 after allegedly threatening two men with a knife in Adams Morgan. Police responding to the incident identified Harris and discovered an open arrest warrant stemming from an October investigation into simple assault and a hate crime. Harris first gained notoriety in September when a viral video showed him berating a delivery driver, Gregario Amundarain, for speaking Spanish, shouting, “Learn English! Learn it!” Following the backlash, Harris’ cafe was shut down for health code violations, though he reportedly attempted a food truck relaunch in November.
The latest charges include accusations that Harris swung a knife at one of the men, though no contact was made. Delivery driver Amundarain, who spoke out after the September incident, shared how the tirade deeply affected his family, even leading his mother in Venezuela to urge him to return home. Harris remains in custody as legal proceedings continue.
