DMV Artist Spotlight: Ms. Amarachi
Ms. Amarachi is an artist whose musical style is not similar to those in her generation. Using her story and the stories of those around her as inspiration, as a child Ms. Amarachi began vocalizing her emotions through poetry, and quickly transitioned into music. With an outward appearance that does not scream “rapper”, many make assumptions about Ms. Amarachi and the type of artist she makes. However, she is able to shock viewers and lure them in with her powerful words and relatable songs. All who watch Ms. Amarachi perform can agree that she packs a punch of energy and an amazing stage presence. She demands attention and intentionally does not curse in her music, so that listeners can understand all that she is trying to portray. Ms. Amarachi continues to spread positivity and has been able to perform on stages in Pennsylvania, Maryland and D.C.
