A False Shooting Alarm Happened At D.C. Pride Parade Causing Multiple Injuries & Early Ending

D.C. Pride Parade

With all the mass shootings going on in America it was good to hear that the noise today at D.C.’s Pride Parade was a false alarm. Though there was no shooter, multiple injuries occurred from the panic that pursued after the false alarm.

CNN reported that a male was found with a gun nearby him and he was arrested. Commander Guillermo Rivera of the Metropolitan Police said there was no evidence found of shots being fired.

The commander also reported some were taken to the hospital for minor injuries while others were treated at the scene. Police are currently reviewing footage to see what the noise actually was.

The parade was organized by Captial Pride Alliance and included over 200 organizations in the 1.5-mile parade. Shots were fired at around 7:20 p.m. according to CNN.  Above is the tweet the Capital Pride sent out after the alarm. Though the parade ended, the block party still went on.
