The Former Murray State Guard Jai Morant is Now Team Nike

Ja Morant

One of the things every next upcoming NBA star wants is a shoe deal. From Michael Jordan to LeBron James we have seen the biggest names get their deals with Nike, Adidas, Under Armour and other companies making millions off their own sneaker line.

Morant now joins the ranks of big-name prospects who will join Nike. The 19-year-old didn’t meet with anyone else and made it known Nike was his first and only choice. According to industry sources, the multi-million dollar sneaker and apparel contract was signed in advance of the May 14 draft lottery.

Over 67% of the league wore Nike sneakers this season with another 7% wearing the Jordan brand which is a subsidiary of Nike. The league’s uniforms are also by Nike after they signed a $1 billion, 8-year partnership as the official jersey and apparel outfitter.
