One person who was in the plane that hit power lines is no longer in the hospital

One person was hurt when a small plane crashed into a power transmission tower in Montgomery Village, Maryland, on Sunday evening. The person hung from the wires for several hours before being taken out of the hospital.

Monday afternoon, officials from Montgomery County told what was going on with the plane crash.

After the crash, which left more than 85,000 people without power Sunday night, one person is still in the hospital.

Authorities have already said that the pilot was 66-year-old Patrick Merkle and that the passenger was also 66 years old and from Louisiana.

Scott Goldstein, the fire chief for Montgomery County, said he didn’t know which of the two people was still in the hospital.

Still, no one knows what caused the crash.

The single-engine Mooney Mike 20P plane crashed into the power transmission tower around 5:30 p.m. on Sunday. Goldstein said the plane became “embedded” in the tower and got caught in power lines about 100 feet above the ground.

Pete Piringer, a spokesman for Montgomery County Fire, told reporters that the pilot made the first call to 911 from a cell phone while the plane was still in the air.
