Patrick Ewing Released From Hospital After Contracting Coronavirus

57-year-old NBA Hall of Famer and Georgetown basketball head coach Patrick Ewing has been released from the hospital. Ewing announced had tested positive for coronavirus this past Friday. His son Patrick Ewing Jr. said he will go through recovery at home.

 

Ewing has been the head coach at Georgetown since 2017. The Hoyas are 49-46 with zero trips to the NCAA tournament since his takeover. For the 2019-20 season, the Hoyas ended with seven straight losses to accumulate a 15-17 record. Ewing also played for Georgetown in the 1980s. He earned one NCAA championship in 1984 and reached two other title games. He saw far more success as a player compiling a 121-30 record.
