There is a big difference between being an All-Star and being All-NBA. Being voted on the All-NBA team can lead to contract bonuses and being eligible for a “Supermax” contract.
There is a big difference between being an All-Star and being All-NBA. Being voted on the All-NBA team can lead to contract bonuses and being eligible for a “Supermax” contract. A player that is eligible for a “Supermax” contract can take up to 35% of the team’s salary cap. The salary cap for 2020-21 is projected at $115 million. After we complete our calculus, that is $40 million!!!
In short, these teams are serious. Without anymore delay, here are your 2019-20 All-NBA Teams from TheDMVDaily.
1st Team All-NBA Team
G: James Harden: 34.7 PPG 6.4 RPG 7.4 APG
Another year of leading the league in scoring and 2nd in minutes per game. Although he is not fun to watch, the object of the game is to put the ball in the hoop; and he does it very well. Harden’s improved defense, durability and endurance is unmatched and very impressive.
G: Luka Doncic: 28.7 PPG 9.3 RPG 8.7 APG
Leading the league in triple doubles, the former EuroLeague MVP uses his skill and sneaky athleticism to score, rebound, and assist with the best in the league. How’s he only 21 and he’s a savage?
F: Giannis Antetokounmpo 29.6 PPG 13.7 RPG 5.8 APG
3rd in points and rebounds, Antetokounmpo also shoots 54% from the field and is the league leader in player efficiency rating (PER) and double doubles. Antetokounmpo and Bucks are on top of the Eastern Conference and are the favorites to make it to the NBA Finals.
F: LeBron James 25.7 PPG 7.9 RPG 10.6 APG
The league leader in assists in his 17th year, a model of consistency, and the smartest player on the floor every night. This is unanimous. Like, why is this a question?
C: Nikola Jokic 20.2 PPG 10.2 RPG 6.9 APG
The best passing Center in the game has the ability to spread the floor from three but has the frame to bang with the bigs in the post. Additionally, Jokic leads all Centers in PER and assists.
2nd Team All-NBA
G: Trae Young 29.6 PPG 4.3 RPG 9.3 APG
He’s too small for the NBA! Young is proving doubters wrong….. well, on offense. Defensively challenged, Trae is a threat to score once he crosses half court. Don’t let the scoring fool you, he is only behind Lebron James in assists. A bright future and a Supermax contract is ahead for the 21 year old from Oklahoma.
G: Damian Lillard 28.9 PPG 4.3 RPG 7.8 APG
A career high in points and assists, Lillard is more than deserving of this spot. His ability to make 30+ foot jumpers off the dribble is remarkable. Lillard and Curry are in a class of their own when it comes to deep threes.
F: Kawhi Leonard 26.9 PPG 7.3 RPG 5.0 APG
Posting a career high in all categories listed above, Kawhi is the best two-way player in the league. Post up, off the dribble, catch and shoot, he can do it all. I think we all know about the defensive side so we’ll leave it alone.
F: Anthony Davis 26.7 PPG 9.4 RPG 2.4 BPG
An offensive force in Los Angeles, Davis is still a defensive rim protector (check the badges on 2k). Davis is leading his team in scoring and is an isolation nightmare for forwards and centers. Fouling will only boost his stats. Davis is shooting 88% from the free throw stripe to add to his repertoire.
C: Rudy Gobert 15.1 PPG 13.7 RPG 2.0 BPG
The blocks may be down, but his paint presence limits opposing teams from getting easy layups and dunks. Despite getting infamously turned around by Stephen Curry, his perimeter defending is pretty great for a center.
3rd Team All-NBA
G: Chris Paul 17.7 PPG 4.9 RPG 6.8 APG
Believe it or not, CP3 will receive MVP votes. No one expected the Oklahoma City Thunder to be good at all. The 34 year old veteran is leading the Thunder to the 5th seed in the very competitive Western Conference. “Clutch Points” occur during the 4th quarter or overtime, with less than five minutes remaining, and neither team ahead by more than five points. Guess who leads the league in Clutch Points??
G: Bradley Beal 30.5 PPG 4.2 RPG 6.1 APG
Do you know how hard it must be to score 30 points per game when the defense knows you’re the only reliable scorer? He may not be an All-Star but Beal is an elite scorer and needs to be recognized. Carrying a below average team night after night wears on a player and Beal has been nothing but professional this year.
F: Pascal Siakam 23.6 PPG 7.5 RPG 3.6 APG
Coming off his NBA’s Most Improved Player award, Siakam is posting career highs in points, rebounds and assists. Siakam is replacing the void Kawhi Leonard left behind and led his team to 2nd place in the Eastern Conference.
F: Jayson Tatum 23.6 PPG 7.1 RPG 2.9 APG
Safe to say, the Celtics found their star. Shooting 40% from 3 (if you round 39.8 up), Tatum set career highs in points, rebounds and assists. Replacing Kyrie Irving with Kemba Walker, who is more team oriented, Tatum got more opportunities to boast how much he has improved from his sophomore season.
C: Hassan Whiteside 16.3 PPG 14.2 RPG 3.1 BPG
Looks like Whiteside has found his role in Portland. Playing aside playmakers like Lillard and McCollum, Whiteside is the beneficiary of some easy dunks and alley oops. The rim protecting center recorded a career high in rebounds and technical fouls. But no flagrant fouls! Maturity.
