Three males from Washington, D.C., have been charged with federal conspiracy in connection with a series of robberies that occurred between January and March.
On Wednesday, the indictments were unsealed in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia.
Gas stations, liquor stores, motels, and restaurants were among the companies affected.
Stephon Harrigan, 28, his brother Aaron Harrigan, 26, and Tavarus Thompson, 28, have all been charged. Stephon Harrigan was apprehended on March 6. Thompson was apprehended on March 18th. Aaron Harrigan was apprehended on Tuesday.
According to the 11-count indictment, all three men committed the crimes beginning on or around January 1. Each man had a specific job, dressed in black clothing, and frequently wore masks and gloves. One or more were allegedly armed with a gun and used various vehicles, including stolen ones, to depart from establishments following the robberies and attempted robberies.
Between Jan. 12 and Feb. 22, there are 25 robberies reported, ranging from Northeast, Northwest, and Southeast D.C. to Mount Rainier and Silver Spring, Maryland.
The three individuals were charged with conspiracy to obstruct interstate commerce by robbery and sale or receipt of stolen cars. Harrigan and Thompson were also charged with firearms offenses. Harrigan was also charged with kidnapping and carjacking.
