After finding themselves down 17-0 midway through the second quarter, the Washington Football Team bounced back, scoring 27 unanswered points the rest of the way to take a 27-17 win over the Philadelphia Eagles.

Dwayne Haskins began his sophomore season and first full season as the starter for the Washington Football team with 178 passing yards on 17/31 passing and a touchdown.

Peyton Barber, who spent his first four seasons in the NFL as the running back for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, made his debut with the Washington Football Team, scoring two rushing touchdowns. Including the touchdown that gave Washington the lead for the first time in the game in the fourth quarter.

The second-year Washington receiver Terry McLaurin finished with 61 receiving yards on five catches. In contrast, tight end Logan Thomas, who scored the lone receiving touchdown for Washington, finished with 37 receiving yards.

Ryan Kerrigan, who recorded two sacks in the game, became the Washington Football Team’s all-time leader in sacks recording his 92nd career sack.

The Washington Football Team’s defense recorded eight sacks, the most sacks by a team in their season opener since the Jacksonville Jaguars had ten sacks in their season opener in 2017 and the most sacks Washington has had in their season opener sine 1973.

The Washington Football Team will be on the road next week as they face off against the Arizona Cardinals led by reigning Offensive Rookie of the Year Kyler Murray and All-Pro receiver Deandre Hopkins.
