  • PublishedJuly 30, 2021

After a year of playing with the Wizards, Russell Westbrook is heading to Los Angeles Lakers via trade. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported the news.

The Wizards will give up Westbrook, 2024 second-round pick, 2028 second-round pick to the Lakers for Kyle Kuzma, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Montrezl Harrell, and No.22 draft pick tonight.

Westbrook turns 33 in November but hasn’t shown signs of slowing down. The nine-time all-star guard averaged 22.2 points, 11.5 rebounds, and 11.7 assists last season.

As for the Wizards, Bradley Beal’s contract expires next season so this move is expected to help them make some moves to surround Beal with talent.
