  • PublishedApril 12, 2021

Back in December, Joe Gutierrez and Daniel Crocker pulled over U.S. Army Lieutenant Caron Nazario, dressed in full uniform, who pulled inside a gas station and put his hands out the driver side window.

“I’m serving this country and this is how I’m treated,” said Lieutenant Nazario.

Officer’s Gutierrez and Crocker drew their weapons and ordered Lieutenant Nazario to get out of his vehicle. When Lieutenant Nazario asked why was he being pulled over, Officer’s Gutierrez and Proctor kept yelling get out the car.

“I’m afraid to get out of the car,” said Lieutenant Nazario.

As he refused to get out of the SUV, the officers approached the vehicle. Officer Gutierrez attempts to open the door, but is unsuccessful. After much attempt to get Lieutenant Nazario out of the vehicle with no success, Officer Gutierrez pulls out his pepper-spray and spray’s Lieutenant Nazario directly in the face.

Windsor Town Officials provided a statement regarding this incident to Fox 5, “The investigation of this event began immediately. At the conclusion of this investigation, it was determined that Windsor Police Department policy was not followed. This resulted in disciplinary action, and department-wide requirements for additional training were implemented beginning in January and continue up to the present. Since that time, Officer Gutierrez was also terminated from his employment.”

According to Fox 5, Lieutenant Nazario is suing both Officers for 1 millions dollars for violating his constitutional rights.
