Harriet Tubman $20 Bill Will Not Be Unveiled Next Year As Planned

The United States Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin stated today that the $20 bill featuring Harriet Tubman will not unveil in 2020. Mnuchin reasoning behind the delay was because it would coincide with the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment, which granted women the right to vote.

According to CNBC, no new imagery will be released until 2028. A hearing took place before the House Financial Services Committee. Mnuchin said in response to questions today that the primary reason they have looked at redesigning the currency is for counterfeiting issues.

The $10 bill and the $50 bill will come out with new features before the $20 bill.
