It was on this day in 1985 when Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan was officially crowned Rookie of the Year for the 1984-1985 season.
Michael Jordan was drafted with the third overall pick in the 1984 NBA Draft by the Chicago Bulls in a loaded draft class that also featured future Hall of Famers Hakeem Olajuwon, Charles Barkley, and John Stockton.
In his rookie year, Jordan played all 82 regular season games averaging 28.2 points, 6.5 rebounds, 5.9 assists and 2.4 steals leading the Bulls to the playoffs.
Although the Bulls lost in the first round against the Milwaukee Bucks, Jordan put up an impressive performance averaging 29.3 points, 8.5 assists, 5.8 rebounds and 2.8 steals.
Michael Jordan is considered by many to be the Greatest NBA Player of All-Time finishing his career averaging 30.1 points, 6.2 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 2.5 steals winning six NBA Championships, six NBA Finals MVPs, five NBA MVPs, three All-Star MVPs and a Defensive Player of the Year in his 15-year career.
