One Dead and Four Displaced After Apartment Fire in Hyattsville

Friday night, firefighters in Prince George’s County responded to an apartment fire at 7007 Highview Terrance in Hyattsville.

Firefighters arrived on the scene to find a one apartment unit on fire. While containing the flames to a bedroom in the unit, they discovered a deceased victim.

Prince George’s County Fire Investigators act in response to the scene to investigate the cause and origin.

Four residents are now displaced and currently being assisted by the Prince George’s County Office of Emergency Management.

Firefighters reported smoke alarms were not sounding when they arrived and said two occupants escaped the unit and requested medical personnel to check them out.
