The DMV Daily Interviews: AlphaPatron

The DMV Daily had the pleasure of speaking with Alpha Patron.  AlphaPatron is a Hip-Hop, R&B, Afro-Fusion, and Pop artist who uses his story to inspire and influence people to follow their dreams just like he did. Raised by an African family, Alpha Patron uses many different cultural elements in his music which adds to his versatility as an artist and makes him incomparable. Check out our exclusive Q&A down below.

Q: Who inspired you to make music?
AlphaPatron: After attending a winter jam concert in Tacoma, I was inspired by the influence and impact Lecrae (A featured artist at the concert) had on the crowd! He was connecting with the crowd so personally, that it seemed as if he was talking to every individual in the room through his music. And that was the moment I realized that I want to inspire people just like he did!
Q: How would you describe the music that you typically create?
AlphaPatron: The music I typically make is very versatile, I use hip hop as the base of the music and then I add different genres as the topping on the cake. Such as RNB, Afrobeats, Pop, Funk, Soul, and Gospel. My music is very impactful, meaning the listener will feel something after listening, whether it be an uplifting vibe, inspire you to dance, or even to just let you know through your pain and struggle, you are not alone.
Q: What is your creative process like?
AlphaPatron: When it comes to pop, afrobeats, or any hook/melody of mine that is catchy my creative process is very jumpy and fun, but when it comes to a more personal, heartfelt song, my creative process is very quiet and I’m to myself.
Q: Who would you most like to collaborate with?
AlphaPatron: I would love to collaborate with Chance The Rapper, Jhene Aiko, and Kanye West!
Q: What is one message you would give to your fans?
AlphaPatron: If you truly love something, pursue it at 100 percent, and don’t let reality or people shape what you want to do! Because at the end of the day, they couldn’t do what you want to pursue, that’s why they’re telling you you can’t do it.
Q: What would you be doing right now, if it wasn’t for your music career?
AlphaPatron: If I wasn’t a musical artist, I feel like I would still be in the industry as a label CEO, Manager, etc. but I see myself as an influencer, motivator, author, and speaker.
Q: Where have you performed?
AlphaPatron: I lost count of how many times I performed honestly, I performed at my local venues, high schools, universities, and pop up shows. But I just love it so much that even if it’s for 10 people, I would have a blast!
Q: How would you say Social Media has impacted your music career?
AlphaPatron: Social Media helped me reach people through my music, freestyle, and message! I was able to gain a ton of show opportunities, collaborations, and internships through social media! I am also able to connect with my fans very effectively on social media, so to answer your question, social media plays a huge role!
Q: Which famous musician(s) do you admire?
AlphaPatron: Kanye West because of his creative ability, and he just never conformed or let society put a ceiling over him. And his ability to impact and reach people through Sunday service and his resources! Also Nipsey, because of his ability to influence people to chase their dreams and to be their own boss
Q: What is the most trouble you’ve ever gotten into?
AlphaPatron: I’ve been a decent kid honestly haha, I never really got into too much trouble growing up. When I was really young, I used to have a little temper and get mad easily, but that was just something I grew out of because the world doesn’t revolve around me and there’s a bigger purpose.
Q: What is the best advice you’ve been given?
AlphaPatron: When God gives you a vision, it’s normal for the human eye not to see it, because it’s so big it’s out of its capacity.
