Wayfair Workers Against The Selling of Furniture to Migrant Detention Centers
A good amount of Wayfair workers walked out from the online furniture store retailer headquarters in Boston today. Workers were unhappy and decided to protest against the selling of bedroom furniture to detention centers for migrant children.
Organizers of the walkout asked for employees to leave the Copley headquarters at 1:30 p.m. They were then instructed to walk to Copley square to demand Wayfair to stop doing business with BCFS.

This comes as the second attempt to cancel $200,000 worth of sales from going through. 500 plus workers signed a petition last week to stop doing business with the government contractor. Wayfair refused and instead opted to donate profit from the sales of furniture.

Wayfair then stated in an email that they would be donating $100,000 to the Red Cross. The company didn’t state if the donation came from the profits of the bedroom furniture sold to the detention centers. They have declined to comment to multiple media outlets, including CNN and CBS.
