A 7-year-old girl is currently fighting for her life after being shot in a courtyard in Northeast D.C. on Saturday, according to NBC Washington.
Police have claimed that multiple shots were fired on Jay Street in the courtyard at the Paradise at Parkside Apartments. The little girl was outside with her family riding her scooter when when the shots were fired. She was shot in the chest and then taken to the hospital currently in critical condition.
Multiple evidence markers were placed in the street as police searched for the shooter and a motive along with it. They don’t believe that the little girl was targeted.
