Pooh Shiesty receives five years and three months for gun charge in Florida

Published

Memphis rapper Pooh Shiesty was sentenced to five years and three months in jail on Wednesday for a firearms conspiracy charge stemming from an altercation outside a Florida hotel in October 2020 that resulted in a man being shot in the buttocks.

Williams was given credit for the year he had previously spent in custody by the judge. Williams may be out in approximately three and a half years if he gets credit for good behavior.

Prosecutors dismissed three charges as part of a plea deal, including a weapons allegation that could have resulted in a life sentence. The allegations stemmed from three distinct incidents, according to court records.

Williams was in a car in Memphis, Tennessee, in July 2020 when a passenger fired a gun at a gas station, according to officials. Authorities say Williams was part of an armed group that fired and wounded two individuals while stealing marijuana, codeine, and high-end footwear from a hotel in Bay Harbor Islands, Florida, three months later. Finally, after a performance at a Miami strip club in May 2021, Williams shot and wounded a security guard, according to authorities.

Pooh Shiesty rose to prominence after collaborating with Gucci Mane and other rappers. Last February, he released his first commercial mixtape, “Shiesty Season.” It reached No. 3 on the Billboard 200 in the United States.
