Salvatore Mundi & Chänęl Unite for “Island Breeze,” A Cross-Cultural Anthem Bridging Caribbean Roots and Global R&B

Rising international artist Salvatore Mundi and genre-blending vocalist Chänęl come together to deliver “Island Breeze,” a vibrant, feel-good record that captures the essence of Caribbean influence fused with modern R&B and global sounds.

Born on April 19, 1994, in Mandeville, Jamaica, Mundi’s journey began with deep cultural roots before relocating to Montclair, New Jersey at the age of six. That duality—Caribbean soul and American perspective—continues to shape his sound and global appeal. Over the past year, Mundi has expanded his international presence, particularly in the UK, where he toured across major cities including Birmingham, Manchester, and London throughout 2024. His single “Closer” has seen consistent rotation on local radio stations in Birmingham, further solidifying his reach overseas. Building on that momentum, Mundi is set to return to the UK for his 2026 tour this Summer/Fall.

Adding to his growing catalog, Mundi recently released the visual for “Runaway,” filmed in the scenic landscapes of Ocho Rios, Jamaica—an homage to his roots and artistic vision. Stateside, he continues to make his mark with live performances across New York City, including recent appearances at Nublu and the Legacy Club in the West Village.

Beyond music, Mundi is expanding his entrepreneurial footprint with the upcoming launch of a global online luxury leather store, alongside the debut of “Let’s Build,” a podcast hosted with his partner EJ Jefferson, aimed at inspiring conversations around growth, business, and creativity.

Joining him on “Island Breeze” is Chänęl, born Shawnelle Alexus La Grande on September 19, 1996, in Somerset, New Jersey. With a musical foundation rooted in early childhood—beginning at just four years old—Chänęl’s journey has been shaped by discipline, versatility, and a deep love for music. From singing in church and school choirs to studying vocal performance in college, she refined her craft before emerging as a solo artist.

Her sound blends soft, atmospheric R&B with elements of Pop, Hip-Hop, and global influences including Afrobeats and Dancehall. Inspired by artists like Mary J. Blige, her debut single “Inspiration” pays homage to classic R&B while establishing her own identity. Known for her strong songwriting discipline—once committing to writing three songs a day—Chänęl quickly transitioned into recording and releasing music that resonates with themes of love, self-worth, and reflection, while also exploring more upbeat and diverse sounds in her upcoming work.

Chänęl first gained industry exposure as part of the girl group Glo 96, where she toured as an opening act for Danity Kane. As a solo artist, she has collaborated with acts like Chinese Kitty and Dave East on the single “Ride.” Her growing success includes charting at #7 on the iTunes R&B charts for “Txt’n Me (Remix)” with Furillostar and Dryx, along with additional chart placements for her double single “Perception” and “Girlfriend.”

“Island Breeze” represents a meaningful collaboration for Chänęl, reflecting her own Caribbean heritage and offering a refreshing, feel-good energy that expands her artistic range. The record also marks her continued evolution under Revo Entertainment, Salvatore Mundi’s label, an entertainment company driven by technology and backed by over a decade of artist development experience.

With both artists on upward trajectories, “Island Breeze” stands as more than just a single—it’s a cultural moment, blending backgrounds, sounds, and global audiences into one unified wave.
