A rideshare driver was shot in Southeast DC; Gunman flees in a silver Volkswagen Tiguan

According to D.C. Police, a suspect is on the run after a rideshare driver was shot in Southeast D.C. on Friday afternoon.

Officers responded to the 2800 block of Hillcrest Drive SE and discovered a male in a car with an apparent gunshot wound. He was brought to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are looking for a suspect who was last spotted wearing all-black attire and driving a dark Volkswagen Tiguan with all-black wheels and perhaps Florida license plates.

According to authorities, the suspect’s car was seen on video by a neighboring surveillance camera.

Police verified to 7News on Saturday morning that the fatality was a rideshare driver.
