A Virginia guy won a $250,000 lottery jackpot after taxes by using numbers from a dream.
Alonzo Coleman, a retired man from Henrico, Virginia, participated in the state’s Bank a Million game, in which players choose six numbers ranging from 1 to 40. Depending on whether the player wagers $2 or divides the wager two or four ways, the players can win $1 million, $500,000, or $250,000 after taxes.
According to Virginia lottery authorities, Coleman spent his $2 on the strange sequence of numbers 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, and 18, which he said came to him in a dream and split his stake four ways.
He went on to match all six winning numbers in the June 11 drawing. He received four sets of numbers since he split his $2 stake four ways when he bought the ticket. According to lottery authorities, he won $250,000 on one of his sets of numbers by using the “Play Your Way” tool.
“It was difficult to believe!” Coleman informed lottery officials in Virginia. “It hasn’t even hit me yet!”
He purchased his ticket at Henrico’s Glenside Corner Mart.
According to lottery authorities, the odds of winning any Bank a Million reward are roughly 1 in 18, while the odds of winning the top prize are about 1 in 3.8 million.
According to officials, the Virginia Lottery earns more than $2 million each day for Virginia’s K-12 public schools, earning approximately $765 million in revenue for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2021.
