Air Force Member Dies After Setting Himself on Fire Outside Israeli Embassy
The man who set himself on fire outside the Israeli embassy on Sunday has tragically passed away. He has been identified as 25-year-old Aaron Bushnell from San Antonio, Texas, confirmed to be a member of the Air Force.
D.C. Fire and EMS swiftly responded to the embassy on International Drive in Northwest just before 1 p.m. on Sunday following reports of a person on fire.
Upon arrival, first responders discovered Bushnell with severe injuries after the fire had been extinguished by members of the United States Secret Service Uniformed Division. According to The Associated Press, he was reported to have said, “I will no longer be complicit in genocide.”
Bushnell was rushed to the hospital with critical life-threatening injuries and sadly succumbed to them. Police announced his passing on Monday morning.
