An armed carjacking in Northeast DC sparks a police chase and a roadblock.

Police are looking into a carjacking that resulted in a police chase in Northeast D.C.

According to the Metropolitan Police Department, suspects were involved in an armed carjacking in the 1400 block of H Street NE around 11:30 p.m. Thursday night, which turned into a pursuit.

According to a police report, the victim was parked and inside his vehicle when an unknown make or model vehicle pulled in front of him, and three suspects left the vehicle, ordering the victim to get out at gunpoint.

One of the suspects entered the victim’s vehicle, while the other two suspects returned to their vehicle and fled westbound on Maryland Avenue NE in the 1400 block. According to police, the pursuit came to an end in the 1200 block of 18th Pl., NE when the suspects went inside a structure, resulting in a barricade.

For several hours, officers were stationed outside the building.

During the barricade situation, 7News witnessed five guys being placed in handcuffs at 5:30 a.m., but they were quickly freed. It’s unclear why the cops put these men in handcuffs. According to MPD, no arrests were made as a result of the blockage.

According to sources, police have two suspects in arrest in connection with the cracking and police pursuit.

The blockade occurred near the area where officers made arrests last week for the theft of a stolen dog named Pablo and a variety of other linked crimes, including carjacking. The MPD has not stated whether the two instances are linked.

A red Mercedes, which had been stolen, had been abandoned in the neighborhood.
