Washington Nationals and BetMGM are Giving Away Free Thanksgiving Turkey Dinners
This year’s Turkeypalooza, which started on Monday at Nationals Park, is expected to give away more than 800 turkeys. Officials say they will give families in the D.C. area a turkey and a bag of extra food, like canned goods and fresh fruits and vegetables, to help them finish their Thanksgiving meals.
This week, food is still being given out at:
- KIPP DC Legacy College Preparatory near Scherzer Field on Tuesday, November 22.
- Oakcrest Community Center in District Heights, Maryland on Wednesday, November 23
From 3 to 6 p.m., you can drive through or walk up to each location to get a Thanksgiving meal. Tal Alter, Chief Executive Officer of Washington Nationals Philanthropies released this statement:
“Nationals Philanthropies is dedicated to helping all residents of the Greater Washington, D.C. region have the opportunity to thrive. Food insecurity is chief among the concerns of communities affected by poverty, particularly in a season that emphasizes food and family. Thanks in large part to the significant contributions of our partners at BetMGM, we are able to bring Thanksgiving meals directly to more residents, meeting them where they are throughout the region.”
