Ahmad Townes is a Baltimore native and elite-level strength and performance coach who is redefining what athletic training means for the next generation. For him, it is not just about speed, strength, or scholarships—it is about building discipline, confidence, and long-term opportunity for young athletes who remind him of his younger self. Growing up in Baltimore, Townes experienced a typical city upbringing, attending public schools and playing sports throughout his childhood. Football, in particular, became his greatest passion and lifelong dream, but he ultimately fell short of playing at the college level due to a lack of resources, guidance, and knowledge about the recruiting process. That experience, while painful, became the foundation for his purpose today.

After high school, Ahmad entered the workforce and eventually obtained his CDL license, working in the trucking industry for several years. The job provided stability and allowed him to support his family, especially after becoming a father. However, life challenges and setbacks within that industry eventually pushed him into a difficult mental space where he experienced depression and uncertainty about his direction. During that period, fitness became his outlet. Introduced to the gym through a close friend, Ahmad quickly reconnected with his athletic identity. What started as a way to cope with stress turned into a full lifestyle transformation. The gym became a place of discipline, healing, and consistency, helping him rebuild mentally and physically while rediscovering his passion for sports performance.

As he began documenting his fitness journey, people started paying attention. Friends, family members, and community members began reaching out for advice, training, and motivation. At first, he hesitated to step into a coaching role, but everything changed when he began training a young football athlete. Seeing that athlete improve week by week reminded him of his younger self and reignited his love for football. That moment shifted everything and led him to officially launch his athletic performance business focused on developing youth athletes for higher levels of competition. Today, Ahmad is known for his intense, high-energy training style and his belief that athletes must be mentally strong, disciplined, and willing to push through adversity if they want to succeed both in sports and in life.

Beyond physical training, Ahmad Townes is currently studying to become a Certified Sports Performance Coach and Specialist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), further strengthening his expertise and commitment to the field. His vision extends far beyond traditional coaching. He is building a holistic performance model that combines athletic training, mentorship, mental development, and life skills. His long-term goal is to create a full sports performance hub where student-athletes can access training, tutoring, nutrition guidance, therapy support, and scholarship preparation all in one space. He strongly believes that education and character development are just as important as athletic ability, especially because injuries or setbacks can change an athlete’s path at any moment.

In 2026, Ahmad launched his first Annual Elite Summer Development Program, designed to give young athletes structured training, exposure, and mentorship opportunities. The program reflects his mission to be the resource he once lacked, helping youth in Baltimore and beyond avoid the same obstacles he faced growing up. Through his work, Ahmad Townes continues to impact the community by shaping not just better athletes, but stronger individuals prepared for life beyond sports. For him, success is not defined solely by scholarships or professional contracts, but by becoming the best version of oneself and building a future rooted in discipline, purpose, and resilience.
